Scheduled end date: 17/05/2011 8:00 AM (GMT+2)
System(s) Affected: To avoid an interruption in security we are renewing and updating the SSL certificate for east.exch021.serverdata.net
Expected Impact: As part of our regular maintenance activities, we will be upgrading the SSL Certificates used for our Client Access Servers in Exchange. These CAS servers are responsible for the connections from your
end-user's desktop clients, as well as, from their mobile devices using ActiveSync®.
Action required: It has come to our attention that due to a delay in updates in device root certificates and chains, your end users may receive a notification on their mobile device that they need to “accept the new certificate” to continue. It may contain a warning that there is a mismatch in the certificate, which is due to the device not having an updated certificate chain. It is safe for your end users to select “accept” on the new certificate, it is the same level of security we have already and when the user accepts the certificate, it will be accepted permanently going forward. On Android devices the user may receive a failure to sync until they accept the certificate, they can accept it by opening the menu at the top where the ActiveSync® warning message is displayed, and by clicking on the warning message it will open the acceptance menu. Users on 3rd party mail applications may need to consult their vendor for instructions on accepting the new certificate.
